Here's the advice Smillew Racheuf gave me when I was in this situation six months ago.

1. Follow other people. They will follow you. If your ratio of followers to people you follow is 2:1 or higher, something is out of whack.

2. Clap/highlight/comment on other writers' articles frequently.
