Great list! One thought I had here. With the exception of Raging Bull, all of those biopics are set within the context of a fascinating historical event: the emergence of the modern Middle East, WWII, corporate indifference to environmental destruction and its human consequences, the Civil War.

I think that's (part of) what makes these movies so much more fascinating than "your father's" biopic.
