An excellent point! American science literacy is a national embarrassment. It doesn't have to be this way. If we had the will, we could offer a solid science education to every high school graduate in every school district, even those with a low tax base. We could rescind the tax breaks given to big corporations under Trump, and redirect that money to science education. And if we did so, those same big corporations would ultimately be better off, with a more knowledgeable workforce.

I'm referring to basic literacy in at least biology, physics, and chemistry. For example, everyone should know how DNA works, the Laws of Thermodynamics, and the structure of the periodic table.

Our citizens would be better off, as would our nation. Somehow, we have decided it's not that important. I think it's a huge mistake.
